A Sign Of The Times in Pontedeume
Our afternoon arrival in Pontedeume was marked by a light rain coming down and almost empty streets. After checking into a lovely inn, the Pension Casa Apelladeira, off we went in search of food and drink. Just down from the town’s iconic tower, we stumbled upon a most quaint café/bar for a pre-dinner snack. So often we catch up with our journaling or look ahead to our next day’s adventures. We also take this time to answer emails and catch up with friends and family. In this day and age, it seems that almost every place we stop along the camino has wifi which makes staying to touch easily done. However, this afternoon, at the Tapería Montadictos, we encountered the most delightful sign reminding us of how social interactions used to take place. It translates, “We don’t have wifi; we invite you to talk with one another.” Taking a trip advisor recommendation, for dinner we had seafood at Zas. An excellent meal to end our second day on the Camino Inglés.
